Switch at Maker Faire

On May 19th and 20th Maker Faire brought to you by Make & Craft Magazine will converge on the San Mateo Fair Grounds, and Switch’s Alison Lewis will be there for all the excitement. If you are in the San Mateo Area stop by and say hi! We love catching up with all our fans of Switch! If you won’t be able to make it have no fear Alison will be filming all the highlights, and post them here for everyone to share.

Those of you unfamiliar with Maker Faire it is a gathering of all things electronic, craft, and DIY brought together under one roof. Imagine learning how to make a fire skirt that is not only stylish but looks like it is ablaze with flames…Now that is something that could be really hot! Learn how to make interactive toys using conductive thread, or try your hand at making a light panelfor inside your purse by Switch’s own Alison Lewis – now you will always be able to find your lipstick no matter how dark the club may be.

Don’t want to spend all your time with your sleeves rolled up in the workshop? How about wandering around and exploring the interactive exhibits that will be on hand? Then just when you think your feet will fail you, why not check out some of the discussion panels and presentations. Alison will be leading a panel on the main stage on Sat may 19th at 1pm talking to Diana Eng, Emily Albinski and Syuzi Pakhchyan about the future of fashion technology and electronic craft.

Remember if you can’t make it to Maker Faire keep checking out the site in the coming weeks for highlights from it. Also don’t forget Maker Faire will be in Austin Texas on October 20th +21st at the Travis County Fairgrounds where switch will be showing off some great new craft ideas…you might even get a behind the scenes look at Switch’s upcoming works.

Don’t forget if you are in the area drop by and say hi! We’ll be looking forward to seeing you there.
