Project Runway becomes Wii Game

 

'Project Runway' will become a Wii game. "Atari Inc. is developing a video game based on the popular reality TV
fashion competition. The game, set for release next year, will cast players as aspiring fashion designers tasked with creating designs and outfitting models. 

Gamers will then be able to showcase their virtual fashions while walking down a catwalk using the Wii Balance Board controller. "

A major video gaming company working with fashion is not necessarily news; there are many games with fashion design such as Sims and Second Life and who doesn't love Sorority Life on Facebook? However, taking on the fashion powerhouse that is Project Runway is something altogether different. I look forward to seeing this project unfold, more to come...

The beauty of Visualizing Sound

The visual results of scientific exploration can be absolutely beautiful.

Today, after watching this inspirational video talk on Cymatics, the process of visualizing sound, by Evan Grant. I was inspired to learn more. I did a search for artists and designers who are making sound a part of their aesthetic and what I found is just plain cool. I suspect there are many more working wtih sound out there, but here are a few to start:

Artist Katie Davies created these 3D Sound Prints, which transforms sound into a three-dimensional form using a combination of different specialiized software.
