I Heart Switch Is Making a Change for Summer 2010

*** UDATE: June 7, 2010: Great news! The Girls in Tech organization has agreed to collaborate on the Singular Blonde Project with Switch! More to information to come! ***

There is going to be a shift in the content of Switch over the summer of 2010. Instead of the usual DIY Projects and fashion tech posts, I will be sharing my life-changing experience as I attend Singularity University. (more on singularity here) The first article is already up and from now on all the posts related to this subject will be tagged “Singularity.”

There will be contributors keeping Switch readers up to date on the latest trends in fashion, wearable, and interior technology. And, for those of you who love DIYs, there is one more awesome project being posted before I leave on the 19th. You’ll just have to wait for that one!

I am calling the documentation of Singularity University on Switch the "Singular Blonde" project. Right now, we are still looking for support to make it happen. When we do, here is what you can expect from

  • Documentary style writing with notes, ideas, updates, and readings along side personal and emotional insights.
  • Images and content on my style, beauty secrets under intense stress, thoughts on the future technologies, and of course how girls are breaking the mold in the predominately male dominated world of science and technology.
  • Links and information on my fellow world changing students and teachers, like NASA Astronaut Dan Barry and Author/Columnist, Sonia Arrison Senkut.
  • A broad world view of current and future technology trends and how these trends relate to grand world challenges like pure water, home energy, sustainable food systems, and much more.
  • An insider’s view of exclusive innovative brainstorms and workshops.

The depth of documentation that can be provided over the summer is directly related to the amount of funding and support we receive. I’ve set up a funding site to help acquire financial and sponsorship. Here is a link to the site:

This program is going to be one hell of a ride and I would love to take all of you with me!  Please give whatever amount you can and send the above link to your friends, family, and colleagues.

Thank you all and have a spectacular summer!

Warm Regards,

Alison Lewis
